Image
Today was the ultimate test. Our Chinomakwa Nani warriors travelled to face the formidable league leaders, Premium Queens, and while the final score didn't go our way, the match was a story of immense courage, valuable lessons, and a fighting spirit that never quit. The final score read 7 -1, but that number doesn't tell the whole story. From the moment we arrived, the team faced a visible challenge in the age and experience of the opposition. This understandably led to some early nerves, especially among our young academy players, and we quickly found ourselves 2-0 down. But in that moment of pressure, the true Nani spirit ignited. Our dynamic left midfielder, Pretty Nyandoro, drove forward and was fouled, winning us a crucial free kick from long range. Stepping up to the ball was the versatile Chiswa (Mai Taylor), who unleashed a spectacular strike that flew into the back of the net, making the score 2-1! It was a moment of pure brilliance that showed everyone our...

Chinomakwa Nani FC Awarded 3 Points After Opponent No-Show It was a day of mixed emotions at Hermann Gmeiner Primary School today. Our girls, as you can see from the picture, were warmed up, in high spirits, and fully prepared to battle it out on the pitch for our rescheduled Matchday 2 fixture. Unfortunately, the anticipated match against Batanai Queens did not happen. The day began with a show of good faith. The kickoff time was moved from the originally scheduled 9 AM to 11 AM. This change was mutually agreed upon to allow both clubs to field their junior boys' teams, who also had important league games this morning. We were looking forward to a great day of community football. However, as the 11 AM kickoff time came and went, there was no sign of our opponents. Our players waited patiently on the pitch, ready to compete. We began trying to contact the Batanai Queens coaching staff, but from 11 AM until midday, their phones were switched off. The match official was p...
